11/27/2018 0 Comments Final blog postThe start of this year and the start of this class I had some past experience with using cameras. But not a lot. When we were sent off the first time to take some photos I knew what I needed to do. I did not know many techniques however. I would go shoot and hope for the best. Thankfully most came out fairly decent. But as the class went on I learned more than just how to take photos. I learned how to upload them into Lightroom, edit in photoshop. I also learned how to create photo books and slideshows in "photos". During this class I learned where good spots to take photos are. What time of day is best to shot photos. How important weather is in taking photos. And while going through this journey I also had fun. I tried to make my solo photo shoots enjoyable and not like a chore or other homework.
Throughout my photos that I have taken I obviously had some good and bad ones and some that were okay. There would be one shoot I did not like at all and one shoot I loved. It just depended on how it played put. However I would say that my still life shoot could have gone much better if I planned it out a bit better. I feel that one of my worst photos was the sunglasses. I just wish it would have a stronger light source on it to create a better effect. I would also say that my whole micro shoot was the best. I loved how they came out. I picked my pine tree photo as my best photo from this class. To me it feels like you could almost touch it because of the texture of the photo. I also included below some of my favorite pictures that I took along with a few from our photoshop assignments that I liked. I am very glad that I had the opportunity to take this class and learn as much as I did. And now whenever I take photos on my own I will take what I learned with me.

11/14/2018 0 Comments motion pictureFor this project we had t go out in the hallways and take motion pictures. So we went out and when we took the pictures we had to focus to the left and right and then take the photo while the subject was in the middle and when we took the photo they should be in focus and there should be a blur behind and around them.
11/13/2018 0 Comments Open assignment- SunsetsFor this open assignment I did sunsets. I noticed that there was a nice sunset Friday night but I didn't have my camera on me at the time so I thought I'd end up doing food but I went out Saturday and I brought my camera with me and on the way home the sun was setting so I pulled over and grabbed a few shots as quickly as I could because I know how fast the sun sets. I also passed a railroad track on my way to finding a place to park and I saw you could see the water tower with the pink sun behind it so I ended up running down the bridge to get from where I parked in order to get the shot but in the end it was worth it because it looked nice. On my walk back to the car I saw the moon and I was wondering how clear I could get a picture of it so I have a few shots but it didn't come out as nicely as I had wanted. ISO 800, f 5.6, 1/60 sec
With this photo I did not change anything other than the blacks a little because it was very dark I lightened it up. I chose this photo because I like how the silhouettes in the front look with the sunset behind it. 11/5/2018 0 Comments light paintingFor photo assignment #6 I decided to do light painting. I invited my friend over when the sun was setting and we went down into my movie room. There are dark black curtains to help block out any light if any from outside. However, once we got started it was fairly dark outside. We both gathered some lights we found around our houses. I found some candles that change multiple colors with a remote control. I also found some multi color Christmas lights. She found some sparklers, we did not end up using these though. She also brought some flash lights. We set up the tripod and then we had to figure out what to shoot. We started off by just goofing around and seeing what we could find. Some of them looked bad but others looked pretty good. We also tried to spell a few things but we ran out of space in the frame. We also tried to draw a car on her camera and I tried to make a Santa hat. I also tried to make a sun with the yellow colored candle but it just looked like a blob but it still looked interesting. ISO 100, F 22, 15 sec
With this photo I just lowered the blacks to help darken the back and get the colors to stand out a bit more. I did not do anything else to this photo. 11/2/2018 0 Comments multiple meFor this assignment we went out around the school to take pictures with a partner. We had to have a tripod and set up at one place. Once we set up the camera with the tripod we adjusted the exposure. ISO, and then aperture. Then we took a blank picture of what will be the background. Once we had that we took multiple pictures of her in different spots/positions. Once we had that we took them into photoshop. We then put the background picture at the bottom of the stack. Then we made a mask on each individual picture and when we turned them all on you got this image of all mashed together. We had to touch of the edges a bit so it would not look so obvious that it was photoshopped. Then we got the final product.
10/29/2018 0 Comments School contextIn this photo assignment we had to take a picture somewhere in or around the high school and then using photoshop put in a spooky setting. For my photo I went outside and took a picture of the school building. Then I took it in photoshop and added a dark cloudy background to give a "spooky" feel to it. I originally was only going to add a pumpkin but then my friend said it would be funny if I added the spooky scary skeletons guy from the video. So I looked up a picture of him and added it. However every photo of him it but off the lower part of his legs so to fix this issue I made him hiding behind the other pumpkin.
10/29/2018 0 Comments Still lifeIn this shooting assignment I was stuck. I felt like I had done most of the photo shoot options. I thought about doing light painting but I couldn't find the right lights I wanted to use but I did have a lamp so I decided to do still life instead. So I gathered a few objects, moved the coffee table and placed the lamp close by. I tried to get different angles of these objects but I found that taking the photo straight on turned out better than trying to get a upper angle.I thought it might look interesting if I could get a lower angle but because of the table I couldn't do that. ISO 800, F/4.8, 1/40 sec
With this image I changed the exposure a little and added a little contrast. I also changed the highlights a little bit, I couldn't change much without ruining the image. 10/22/2018 0 Comments macroFor this assignment I went out around the woods by my grandparents house. While I was out I was hoping to find some small flowers to take pictures of. I found a few small ones but not many. I did find some bushes and trees that had some branches that looked interesting. As I was taking the pictures I realized the pictures would come out better if I put it on the macro setting so I tried that and I liked how they came out so I went with that. ISO 400, f 5.6, 1/250 sec
With this photo I have to change the exposure a little because it was a bit cloudy when I took these photos. Other than that I did not make many changes I just lightened the highlights a little bit and moved the shadows around a little and that was it. 10/18/2018 0 Comments PanoramaFor this project we had to go out and take a least three photos of a landscape or area. We had to find a couple places to do this with. Once we had all the photos we went into photoshop and selected automat panoramic and selected the series of photos. Then it stitched them all together. We had to crop it to how we liked and then put our names on it and then it was done. It was a fairly simple process and I thought this was a fun project to do.
